Special Needs Education Course

Education and Study

Our graduate students are trained to supervise school teachers as well as peer teachers in their schools for supporting individual children’s need. In order to do so, we teach them to have comprehensive knowledge and advanced skills in handicapped children education.
Nowadays handicapped children education is not only practiced in schools for handicapped children. It has extended to various kindergartens, elementary schools and junior high schools where non-handicapped children study. Special education needs are considered to be educational inclusion. Therefore, every school practices handicapped children education and cares for children’s special education needs. In order to meet their new school needs, we are producing experts to support these schools.

Teacher Education Course

Education and Study

We, in particular, focus on training graduate students to be skillful and professional experts in school education in order to meet the needs of Japanese society. Therefore, we aim to produce school teachers with advanced knowledge and teaching abilities to solve problems and issues within schools.

It is difficult for teachers to solve problems that arise in schools, even though they have many teaching experience. They need to have analytical perspectives to understand both the situation and children/students. Then they can construct a paradigm to solve the problem with others. We must emphasize that teachers should be capable to handle the problems, evaluate and reconsider them.

In this course, we train practitioners who will be school leaders with skillful teaching techniques along with new school teachers who will have the ability to satisfy new school demands.

A Master of Professional Development for Education is awarded when the requirements of the course are fulfilled.
