Teaching Internship
One of the courses showing the trait of Faculty of Education is 'Teaching Internship'.
This course is compulsory to acquire a teacher’s license. In this course, students choose two schools from elementary, junior high and kindergarten etc. and undertake a three week internship in each ( 3 credits each ) in June of the first semester (1st dispatch) and in September of the second semester (2nd dispatch) of their junior year. The high school teacher's license is only awarded to those who undertook an internship at a junior high school. However, to acquire a teacher's license for the school for handicapped children, the students must undertake a further three weeks (3 credits) internship, in September of the second semester of their senior year.

Nursing Internship
At present the term 'nursing care' is heard on many occasions. The problems of nursing care range widely from social security problems such as nursing insurance to specific issues such as physical nursing care and visiting nursing care. With our increasingly ageing society the issue is becoming more important.

Reflecting such times and social circumstances, a law was enacted to make a 'Nursing Internship' a requirement for the acquisition of the teacher's license. Therefore, this Faculty has offered the 'Nursing Internship' course since 1998.

This 'Nursing Internship' targets sophomore students and includes nursing experience for seven days in total at schools for the blind, deaf mutes and handicapped children and other social welfare facilities. We also require our students to visit designated schools or facilities by themselves to increase their experience.

Students can have opportunities to meet with people with various handicaps at each school or facility. After such experiences, student feedback is very positive, widening and deepening their knowledge of communicating with socially weaker people and also how to understand people and society.
